Read a gracious note of thanks from Mack Wyatt's cross-county competitor, The Shelby County Democrat, for stepping in to help them get their paper out one week in 1937.

Mack Wyatt writes about the first time he went up in an airplane in 1935. A pilot friend flew him and his two young sons from Clanton to Montevallo for an adventure they would never forget.

“My First Airplane Ride”

The businesses that published Mack Wyatt's newspapers in Clanton and Montevallo were eventually absorbed by the Clanton Advertiser and the Shelby County Reporter. Both papers are still serving their communities and being printed and mailed to subscribers each week. The internet has given each paper a way to provide even more service to readers and subscribers through their websites.
