From 1956 to 1960, Rudolph Kish of Pea Ridge visited his daughter, Patsy’s, elementary school classes in Montevallo and made motion picture films of the children and their teachers with his home-movie camera. The result is this video of the class as it progressed from second grade to fifth grade. The film shows the Alice Boyd building, which housed grades one through three, and the Jeter building which housed grades four through six. Among the teachers and Alabama College student teachers seen in the film are: Virginia Sims, Miss Sparks, and Macy Simpson. These children continued on to became the Montevallo High School graduating class of 1967.
